An impressive, contemporary entrance to a traditional property in Surrey.
The approach to this house had to be totally re-configured to meet planning requirements. Bespoke, granite capped, quartz paddlestone, gate piers framed the Iroko hardwood, automated gates. Traditional granite setts were used with the modern, silver resin drive. Yew hedging was added to frame the parking areas while grasses and up-lit, ornamental pear trees added form and texture, providing a dramatic setting at night.

A rustic and rural approach to this beautiful property in east Sussex.
In addition to an entire re-working of the driveway it was the re-design of the courtyard that took centre stage being the focal point central to house and notably the kitchen. The rural charm of the property was mirrored by the use of locally sourced materials, Wealdon stone for the walling and York stone for the paving. The planting consisted of mature specimens of various sized Buxus domes, Cherry and Magnolia trees to compliment the mixed herbaceous plants and ferns which helped rejuvenate the courtyard yet maintaining a well-established feel.

Attracting wildlife and creating spaces for this young family in their south London home.
A Millboard decking area for entertaining; a raised, London-brick, herb garden; a cedar pergola for shade and a play area for the children utilised all the available space and provided the clients with their wish for a low maintenance garden.
A carefully selected planting scheme, which included the addition of a sedum roof to their bespoke, Ecospace garden room and up-lit silver birch completed the project.

Materials with a weathered look were chosen to compliment the native salt tolerant plants and hedging. Smooth feature stones, beach cobbles, jetty posts and harbour styled bollard lights completed the effect.

“The Big Green Egg Garden”
We collaborated once again with the Big Green Egg to celebrate their clay oven barbecues. The multi-storey design, requiring a careful and considered construction, was awarded the 5 Star Trade Stand Award. This was the first two-storey garden to be constructed at the Chelsea Flower Show.
Impressively tall ivy walls welcomed visitors up to the second storey of the weathered, fabricated shipping containers. Volcanic stone pavers alongside hardwood decking created a contrasting texture to the garden floor.

“Excuse Me While I Kiss The Sky”
Winner of “The Peoples Choice Award” for “Best Small Show Garden” and an RHS Silver-Gilt Medal, this “Concept Garden”, was designed as a space to encourage visitors to see things from a different perspective, and in turn inspire new ideas. A mirrored boundary wall encircled the space, reflecting the sky, bringing it right into the garden. Visitors were encouraged to spend time in the garden, with a handheld mirror creating personal perspectives. In this garden, the sky really was the limit…..with half the garden hanging upside down.

“Urban Serenity”
Combining water, sawn stone and timber, the garden featured an infinity-edged pool with a Corten steel spout to create the soothing sound of flowing water. Deemed to be a “sensory delight - offering stimulations to both vital and aural senses”, the garden won the RHS Gold Medal in the small garden category.

“The QVC Garden”
Inspired by poetry and blending architectural form with rural inspiration, this show garden experimented with unusual combinations of materials and plants. “QVC Bejewelled Garden”
Taking its inspiration from glittering gemstones and described as ‘the most interesting design moment in Chelsea 2007’, this tiny garden measured just 4.5m x 5m. Featuring flowers with the colour and vibrancy of rubies, sapphires and diamonds, a simple taupe wall offset the luxurious palette of purples, browns and gold planting.
